With uncertainty comes anxiety for many. There are quite a few approaches to anxiety, but I think right now it’s best to focus on the easier, simpler, and positive things. I won’t be saying “avoid” or “don’t” with any of my tips.
When you feel the anxiety rising, try to recognize it and use that as a cue to step back and practice calming techniques such as:
Focus on your breath
Take deep breaths
Find a calming scent (candles, essential oils, tea, etc.) such as lavender or chamomile
Take a walk or do other movement activities like yoga, tai chi, stretching, etc.
Write about what you’re feeling
Repeat a calming mantra or one that changes the thought pattern, such as “I’m in control”
Practice gratitude and start listing things you are grateful for
Rub the middle of your big toe and give yourself a mini reflexology session focused on your Pituitary reflex point – more specifically use your thumb to press on the middle of your big toe for a few second and repeat on the other foot
It’s helpful to practice and train your body to use these tools when you’re not feeling anxious or stressed. The more often you practice relaxation and calming techniques the easier it will be to use them when you feel the panic rising and the better your body will respond to these techniques because it’s practiced them.
Go ahead and pick one to practice right now.
Book your reflexology or holistic healing session to help calm to the body/mind/ spirt and come back to a state of balance.
